Firewire Imaging - Low cost digital camera connected to a PC using DirectX is a powerful trend in Industrial Inspection. Sony and Imaging Source are aggressively cutting prices of their firewire cameras - we will reflect this in our August pricelist. Camera vendors like Allied Vision and Pt Grey now supports DirectX.

We are at the moment deploying many firewire imaging multi-camera systems in the automotive industry - "Twice the performance - Half the price"  and experience a growing demand and interest for our open software.

In August we are launching version 3.0 of Scorpion Vision Software. In this major release we have added support for the innovative Firewire LineScan Camera from Baumer Optronics together with improved and more robust image processing tools,  better color support, easier and faster toolbox management, more examples - ethernet io and tcp/ip communication ++, better help files and improved DirectX support.

Scorpion Vision Software focuses on 2D and 3D Laser Measurements

We will launch a series of Scorpion Laser Measurement Solutions in 3Q 2004. To the right a lamella length measurement system is shown. The solution is competetively priced at 7000 Euro including Scorpion Vision Software, System Configuration, communication to a PLC, a camera, a laser and a junction box. The system measures the lamella position with 1 mm accuracy up to 10 times pr second and is connected to a PC using a firewire cable.
